twenty five.

oh, this dreaded post. :sighs:
i have no idea WHY, WHY, WHY.
but i have been thinking a lot about Mike's mom coming out here to visit and meet Ryder.
there isn't a point, its going to be the most annoying few days and i still can not stomach the thought of her ever, ever holding my child.
and i am still extremely pissed off that she would still have the nerve to disrespect me as she did a few days ago with Mike's text.
i guess i'm mainly doing this to shut the fat lady up, and so Mike can show her what a real parent is, and we can show her what a real family is. i hope it makes her realize what she never had.
BUT, there are going to be rules, and they will be followed.
First, she stays in a hotel. this way, i am not over run by anxiety and can keep my sanity. this way, Mike and i can still keep our nightly schedule with Ryder, and have alone time and not have to worry about her being a floor beneath us. in case of a fight, or.. well, more yelling but in a different way.
Second, no Tiffany. this, is really my biggest things. i can get over Trish. she's a cunt, and i will never like her. but, other than being dumb, a shitty parent, and not respecting me, she's decent, some of the time. tiffany went back to indiana last time saying i was punching myself in the stomach to hurt my baby because my daughter turned into my son. we hadn't talked to her in months and even on new years eve, she was talking shit about me at a party. i heard about it. i have struggled and worked too hard for her to come into my home and go back just to slander my name. and, as Heather said, take slutty pictures in my bathroom. lmao. i think that, along with her staying in a hotel, will be a really good improvement to this visit.
and last, she needs to really apologize to me. what she said, about "whether your wife likes it or not" was extremely uncalled for. i am really sick of being the bad guy. i don't piss people off or keep people away from my son for my own health, i do what's right for my children. and neither one of my babies deserve to go through what Mike ever did, or even i did from that woman. if Mike had came home from Deployment and told me he wanted his mom out here, i would have had him call her up to set it up. i hate my mother in law, that will never change. but whatever my husband wants, within reason, he will get. i wish she could open her eyes and realize i do not control him, and that MY decisions, are also his own. he would like her to meet his son and see him as a dad, but clearly it isn't THAT important to him. seeing as this discussion is coming up now, instead of sooner, by my own accord, mind you. and when i told him to call her tonight and talk to her about it he didn't. said he didn't feel like dealing with her, that even talking to her is a struggle. i warned him, i could change my mind and not allow it (we all know how pregnancy thoughts, emotions, and hormones go!) and he just shrugged. saying it wasn't a big deal, i wasn't offending him if i did. it's just... sad. all of this. and those comments are why i don't want her around my children. if her own son barely even cares that she exists, how will my children feel when they know what's going on?

but, despite all things, and pushing my hatred aside, i know Trish would come out to California for the right reasons. to see Ryder and play with him, and enjoy her only son's company. she wants to see him with his child, and see how he acts. which, i know she will be surprised. i, honestly, am not worried about her judging me as a parent or wife, no. not this time. but she also needs to understand that i won't back down, or hold my tongue. and if i tell her to leave, she needs to leave. there will be no discussion.

Mike, oddly, had nothing to say to my rules. he just said okay, agreed, and told me he understands why i feel this way. which, is really nice. i asked him though, if he REALLY understood. i told him, i didn't feel like i was being treated fairly, by her saying whether i like it or not. i make the final decisions with everything, especially when it comes to the kids. this is my home, and i, in no way, should ever feel uncomfortable in it. i have cooked and cleaned and made this place a home, as best as i could, while Mike was gone. i did everything on my own and was there for my husband when he needed someone. i have done everything right, so yes. this is all my decision. i know that if this was more important to him, he would have expressed that when he got home. or he would have taken this chance as soon as i told him about it. but he constantly tells me he doesnt care about anyone but the three of us, that indiana and everyone in it couldnt be farther from his mind. and that makes me feel good, always.

i just want this damn thing over with. before July so we can spend that last month preparing for Lyvia and spending it as just the three of us. she doesnt get to be THAT special and be here for the birth, or meet her first. but, we will see what happens. but i know i won't be no more miss nice mama this time around. i accept this challenge. mwahahahahahahahahahahaha!

twenty four.

every morning.
i wake up before i really want to.
and i spend the day.
changing a dirty butt, cleaning up toys, chasing my son around, i pick up the same things over and over, the things he isn't suppose to play with. i run to the same spot, where he isn't suppose to be, a thousand times a day and bring him back to his play area. just to see his backside of him crawling away again. i wash bottles every other night, and clothes every weekend, and have to fold them and put them all away all over again. i chase his binkies and toys around stores when he throws them from his stroller. i always have an extra one in my pocket, just in case. theres snacks in the car, at all times. as well as one of his blankets. i know his favorite songs to sing, and teach him new things. i pick out his clothes and shoes, that he rarely even keeps on. i deal with baby melt downs and owies, and ackies and by the end of the day, i'm exhausted.

but it never fails. i always tip toe into his room and watch that little boy sleep, multiple times a night. i miss him so much when he's in the next room. i love watching his breathing, that pouty little mouth opening and closing. him stretching to get comfortable. i just want to wrap him up and keep him this little forever. my precious little innocent baby. that i love so much!

and now, i'm going to add another to the everyday life.
exhaustion or not.
i wouldn't have my life any other way.

the best thing i ever did was marry that crazy man and get pregnant. i have no regrets with any road that has led to my children. though Ryder and Lyvia are only going to be 18 months apart, it only means they will grow up together as best friends. i get so many weird looks when they see me holding Ry and i say i'm pregnant again. but it doesn't bother me anymore. nothing does. the best thing i ever did was give birth to that little boy, and this little girl in august.

truth is.
i honestly can't wait for the nights where Mike ends up on the floor and i am half hanging off the bed because the kids are taking over during a thunderstorm. kissing away tears at boo boo's. picking them up from school to hear all about their days, the jibber jabber of two little kids talking over one another. the run around of sports and ballet classes. (so excited i get to say this now!) it's going to be wonderful. the best life i have ever lived, is with my children.

almost every girl in the world wants to fall in love with a guy, get married, and have babies. and i see so many girls i went to high school with searching in all the wrong places. they post photos of them constantly getting drunk, partying, being sleezy. who really wants that life!? i fall in love more and more everyday with my husband that i married young, after knowing him only 9 months. and i fall in love with our son multiple times a day, and will our daughter as well. no more searching, or heartbreak, or hurt when he doesn't call me the next morning. i have it. i have it all. everyday and all the time.
our perfect little family of four.

yes, i'm the lucky one.

twenty three.

today.
we found out the sex of our second baby. we're having a little BABY GIRL!
Lyvia Jean will be making her appearance at the end of July. :)
the entire experience of today was better than anything i could have expected. i got to see our beautiful baby, that was sleeping the whole time, move around. and hear her heartbeat. it was so calming and relaxing, and i didn't have to leave Ryder! and before i knew it she pointed and said it was a girl. i stared at it, or. lack there of, of an "it" and made her triple check and told her what happened last time. she explained to me the three lines, or dots.. made up a vagina. i still don't know if i believe her, but she promised me. and said that if Naval said something different, to have them call her. i guess my situation happened more than once with women going there. so, for now. i'll trust her. no second guessing. and i'll hang onto a few boy items.

to my son and daughter:

1. Mommy Loves you.
there is no denying how much i love both of you.
Ryder, i can not look at you each day without getting tears in my eyes at some moment in time. your laugh, your cry, your curiosity with new things, old things, random things. watching you brave yourself to take a step. i know that you will in due time. you're the most precious little being i have ever laid my eyes upon. i look up to you so much, even though you are so little. you have given me hope in this world, a reason to live, breathe, and love with everything that i have. you are everything i could have ever wanted.
Lyvia, i can only hope to share as many precious memories with you throughout your life. i get to experience the "baby steps" with you, as i did your big brother. i get to have my breathe taken away from my soul, one more time. i get to teach you things, as i did Ryder. and i know that your big brother will teach you everything you need to know. show you how to get into Mommys cabinets, and get under her skin. i know the two of you will be close in age and i can only hope you guys get along. most of the time, of course.
i will always love the two of you. no matter where i am, what mess you make, how many time outs i put you in. no matter how big you grow up, how many times your forget your homework, or hurt my feelings without meaning to. i will always love you each in your own special way, but that will never mean that i love one or the other more. you both, are what keep me alive, and give my life purpose. without either of you, i have no idea where i would be.

2. No Matter Where You Go...
always remember that long road home. i left and moved to the other side of the country with your dad when i was 21 years old. and i know being so far away has hurt Mimi. but, we get to talk everyday. at least, promise Mommy that. there are so, so very many moments in this world that you mind find yourself in. whether it be a career, a man or a woman, or a silly little pipe dream, go. spread your wings and give life a chance. but no matter what, you will always have a home, wherever i am. i will leave the porch light a glow, and a map in your glove compartment. there is no other place, but home.

3. No Matter Who You Might Be...
you're going to be amazing. as long as you are determined and driven, and do it with all your heart. no matter what you want to do with your life, do it. give it everything you have, and never stop trying. when you stop fighting, you start dying. don't ever let anyone tell you that you can not do something. that is the biggest lie the world will tell you. and i never want to see you lose that sparkle in your eye over something you really love, because of something that someone said. please, don't ever do that.

4. No Matter Where We Live...
i promise that the two of you, and any other siblings down the road, have your own little private place that is only yours. and that you will have the things you want and need, always.

5. There Is No One Else...
that will ever be more proud of you, than i am. and i promise to always tell you so, every chance that i get. i promise to always encourage you, with everything that i have. i will never be too wrapped up in anything else to stop and talk to you, or listen to you, or do anything for you. the two of you will come first, always. you two will always be my everything, always.

i dread the days that i no longer have to carry a binkie around in my pocket, that i don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to get a bottle and change diapers. the day that i'm no longer handed drawings from my children to put on the fridge. where bed time stories arent wanted, and i have to sneak in at night to kiss them, because mommy kisses are too icky. where waiting at the bus stop "isnt cool" anymore. or even worse, high school. i love my kids. more than anything i have ever loved in my entire life. i was nothing before i gave birth to Ryder, i no longer feel that way. if there is nothing else i do with my life, i know that i birthed and raised two beautiful babies, and that they are mine. and as long as i'm living.
my babies they'll be.

twenty two.

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
you have another thing coming to you woman.
bless my husbands heart.
now, i think we all know that i hate my mother in law, and her slut daughter with a mighty passion.
and the hatred has even been worse since my son was born, and she decided to call him by the wrong name. i haven't been too worried about it lately. i know that her and Mike talk sometimes. as much as i hate it, it doesnt cause problems. no matter where we live or what happens between us, there really is no getting rid of the bitch. they usually text once a month or so.
well, she texted him today. as i was reading the texts, i lost some brain cells.
i had to add "bad grammar" to the list of reasons i don't want her around my son. my son will be educated. his mother is a woman of words, and will not talk like a low grade black person with his pants around his fucking knees. which, seems to be the way my mother in law likes to talk. and whenever Mike talks like that, by saying "don't" rather than "doesn't" i get on his ass REAL fast.
well, she asked if my son was walking yet. that's all she asked about him. he's talking now, he has two teeth, he eats real food, and he no longer has his stomach issue and clearly, she "don't" (gosh i want to stab myself in the brain every time i ever JOKE like that.) care about all of that. well, she asked him if he was going to be able to come home in April.
now, as much as i want to go back to indiana and show off my pride and joy, plus one in my belly. and how upset i was with not going when we talked about it, i'm perfectly okay with that now. being almost 6 months pregnant, with a year old baby, and three loud dogs. no offense, going to see my mom and only my mom really, just isn't worth the stress of a four day car ride JUST to get there. Ryder gets cranky spending half a day in the car going to and from San Diego. really, the dogs were the deciding factor. and, losing all my "family" so, we had chose to just wait until we EAS out to make that road trip. that Buddy and Crystal, when they could afford it, would visit.
after Mike got home from Deployment, when we were working on things, i asked him if he honestly, wanted his mom and sister here. he looked me in the eye and told me that he didn't. that yeah, he would like to see them but after the stress of last visit, it wasn't worth it. that even if they stayed in a hotel, which obviously, would be a given, it would be too much. once again, extremely pregnant. and them not giving a fuck about my son in the first place. but honestly, lately, i have been thinking about it. that i could stomach a short visit, just so that they could see Ryder. once in two and a half years, isn't so bad.
that bitch!
tells my husband that, "whether i like it or not she's coming out for a LONG trip to see HER grandson."
for real lady?!?!
first of all, no. that isn't how you handle ANY situation you are clearly out of. whether i like it or not huh? lets see, i'm this childs mother, the sole caregiver, i am the one with him 24 god damn 7. and whether i like it or not you're going to come barging into MY hometown to see a child you have never seemed to give a flying fuck about?! excuse me. i don't think so.
had she said ANYTHING else, it might have been okay. since she is clearly STILL, disrespecting me, and clearly will never have respect for me, or even ask her son if he wants her here, once again i have to pull my bitch card out and put a freakin stop to it. it's just RUDE. and once again, she hasn't learned. she just texted Mike complaints about her work, and his sister, yadda yadda yadda. get a clue lady!

but my favorite part of the conversation was where Mike just stopped talking after that comment. i know he read it and rolled his eyes and put his phone back in his pocket.

it just makes me furious that just because this lady gave birth to my husband, that she feels the need to have a right in MY childrens lives. i'm not the biggest fan of Mikes father. i don't agree with what he has done in his life and the father he was. though, it made Mike become an amazing dad and change and grow up. however. that man has never disrespected me. he treated me like his own daughter, well, even better than his own daughter. and told his son he was proud of him for the woman he chose. even though i was really pissed at how Mike handled the time he came out and met Ryder, i got over it. and though i said that Ryder and i wouldn't be going to see his dad the next time he trucked out here, i don't mean that any longer. he may or may not be here on Saturday and Mike told him that he might not be able to because of the ultrasound. clearly, he learned his lesson from last time and i am proud.

there is something inside of me that can not stomach seeing one of those two immature women in my husbands life, holding my son. playing with him, or anything else. not out here. things have changed with Michael and i, and i myself have changed a great deal. but it's one step at a time. this is what i have always wanted for my children, and i'm not going to allow them near him. i am so tired of people saying it's the right thing, or that he's young and won't remember. but I will! i didn't struggle with no help from her, for months and months. i don't deal with what i deal with and teach him what i do, without her caring about him. just to waltz out to california for a "long" weekend. i just can not let it go. especially reading how she just told him. basically flat out said, "fuck your wife and what she wants or needs, i'm going to see him." no way! it makes me so, so angry! she hasn't changed, at all, since me taking my child from her. since stopping the emails, and her son being home and not talking to her much either. there has been no change at all. it's gotten worse. don't talk to my husband once a fucking month and expect to get everything you want. don't think you have a right in my two kids life when you have done absolutely nothing but disrespect me for a year and a half. with absolutely no apologize, whatsoever. obviously Ryder is Mikes as well but even he is smarter than to think that this is about to happen. hence the no response. she just ruined her chances, again. and not that we're about to be a family of four, and things between us are a lot better and where they need to be. he's going to stand up for whats right and fair. he's going to protect his family.

yeah, good luck breaking down these walls lady.
i'm not a push over. you haven't fought for any one of us, like i have fought for Mike. from his mom and sister, his friends, everyone. even STILL, almost 3 years and two babies later.
if theres one thing they all taught me, it's how to stay strong, stick to my guns, and fight. fight for what i believe in and what i want and never letting anyone take that from me.
thanks for that.
but you're never going to win.

-ks.

twenty one.

gah, what a good weekend.
due to the holiday, even though we don't like the president, mike had a 72. it was nice having him back for three days after being in the field. and i have to admit, the feeling in my stomach when i saw hi when i picked him up, and the giddiness of our son when his Daddy returned, melted my heart. even though he was wearing under roos when he got home, and made him look like a twelve year old.
we went out to Target, to get out of 29 on Saturday. for my birthday, Mike wanted to get me the pregnancy pillow, since that was our running joke with Ryder in my belly and i use just lay on him. but, i couldn't bring myself to have us spent $55 on a freakin pillow. so, he bought me a big bookshelf instead, and a new book. which, was cheaper than a stinkin pillow. it was a really nice gesture though. and since we had a little extra money from state tax, we bought things we needed for Ry and next baby too. we stocked up more on wipes and baby lotion, shampoo, and bubble bath. as of right now, that's all i will allow us to buy until we find out the gender. we also got him TWELVE month jammies because he's growing like a weed. it makes me sad to see my little bear growing up. but he is such an awesome kiddo!
and then we made a trip to goodwill. foooor, BOOKS!
i have learned to love car rides with Mike. maybe it's the closeness of him being right next to me, knowing whatever i say he can't just walk away from me. and we always talk about our future. it never ceases to amaze me when we do. i look back and i am in total awe at how far we have come. and how, ever since our son was born and he came back, i don't think about the past, hardly at all. i look to our future. where we want to live and what color house we want. who we want our kids to be. all our hopes and wants and dreams. and it's so incredibly nice to hear Mike talk all about it too, and not involving cars or bikes or friends and parts of his "old life" i was so worried when he left for Deployment. how he talked about wanting this, or that, and not appreciating what he already has. every so often he does that, but not nearly as much. and he seems so much happier these last few weeks. i finally get to hear my husband laugh. its the most beautiful noise. we have had so, so many problems that i can't remember the time we really, really just laughed together. and that's been happening a lot more now. it makes me so happy, and gives me a lot of hope of the years to come. finally, finally, i think we're headed in the right direction.
all weekend, he really helped me out. he cleaned what i asked him to, and he finally baby proofed the kitchen which i wanted him to do during post deployment leave. he gave me my "me" time to sit and relax, took care of the dogs and played with Ryder. i sent him to the grocery store with the baby, alone. for the first time in our married life. he has never gone alone. and i was really proud of him with what all he came back with. it's stupid little things like that, that show me how much he has grown up. it's truly, amazing. he didn't understand my excitement about him doing it on his own. but it helped me out a lot! and it gave him some daddy son time.

now, speaking of our amazing son! Ryder is on the go! he is dangerously close to walking. he walks with his toy and pushes it around the house. he stands on his own a lot more now. and his two adorable front bottom teeth are popping through more! and, the other night he got his very own big boy bed!! i got a bed that all together must have cost about $160 originally, for $20 on yardsales. in great condition. when Mike brought it home, Ryder was so excited. he showed a lot of interest in it and it made me smile. obviously, we're keeping him in his crib for awhile longer, but the fact that he got excited over it, was a big deal! we have been practicing walking with him and last night Mike told me he took 3 steps. now, i was upstairs putting his clothes away so, i didn't see. so of course, i don't believe it. haha. but he was pushing his walking toy all over the house. he just needs to build a little bit more confidence and he has it. my big brave boy. <3

today, felt good. i love days that turn out to be productive. i know i should have more, but i have gotten lazy. haha. i picked up Monique and we went to the post office to mail my student loan papers that i needed to like, a month ago. by the time i get Mike's things done, get Ryder and the dogs taken care of, even when Mike is home, i always forget to do what i really need to do. but, i finally did it. then we picked up Ryders new Cars toy organizer, and headed to base. i cashed my birthday checks and went to the MCX. i got my VS Lotion, yum! and of course, stretch mark lotion so i don't get any, i hope. and we went to the thrift store on base and went book hunting. we're going to go book hunting out in Yucca another day this week, sadly, i might have converted her into my addiction. which, is getting really, really bad. i have 160 unread books of mine, just random ones, not including the Harlan Cobens and Jodi Picoults and such i haven't read yet. why i decide to write them all down and keep a list in a notebook, i have no clue. i think when i'm able to cross off a book that's been read, i feel like i accomplished something. when it comes to books, i don't know. it's like, a business for me. i find a good book, i read it. unless it's one of my authors, or really, really good, i sell it. for money that i paid for it, for another book. and i'm glad Mike understands. like he said, it's much better than expensive shoes or clothes. i love a good bargain, thats for sure. and when i ask him if we can go book hunting, he never has a problem with it. even if my bookshelves are currently overflowing in our bedroom. it's really nice that he understands, and doesn't have a problem with it. and he's perfectly okay with being married to "the book lady" haha.

i am so excited for life. on Saturday we find out if we have Bentley or Lyvia. yes, i think we have decided to stick with our first baby girl name. honestly, i'm tired of trying to figure one out that we both like, and one that sounds right. and i wanted to have the name picked out when we find out, so we can call the belly that. then we get to start the new process and pick everything out. and get our butts in gear and set up the second bedroom. we were even talking about, when we move and get a different vehicle, getting a mini van! haha, yes i said it. i, of all people, want a mini van. that is such a damn scary thought! but i love it. i love being a mommy and i still want my five little babies! i am glad that things are back to normal with Monique, seriously. it's amazing how everything has just fallen back into place.   i am happy with the new friends i am making out here as well, i just need to find time and energy to hang out with them. i have weeded out the drama, the immaturity, the past. the past, was a big thing for me. i deleted almost everyone i knew back in high school. all the guys i had a thing for, or did things with. the girls that have no need to see my life. my family, most of all. who just sit and watch my life but don't really care about it. it's been, such a wonderful experience. i feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. i focus now more on my marriage and our family. and getting to where we want to be in life. i have no worries, or fears, about what the future holds for us any longer.
as long as i have my husband and two beautiful babies, my life is complete. <3

twenty.

scars are souvenirs you never lose, your past is never far.
and as much as i try to hide my past, and erase it from my memory, i can not.
tonight, Mike was playing Goo Goo Dolls on his IPod. he doesn't know how badly they affect me now.
"Name" was Billy and i's song. so, i sat and listened to it. and i got through it without shutting down completely. but i finally, actually listened to the words that are wrapped within the song that controlled my life for a year and a half.
it isn't a love song.
it's a song about basically, keeping you a secret. that the past is never far. losing your dreams along the way of life. the letters that you meant to send, the words you wanted to say, got lost or thrown away.
my secrets, of Billy, my words were never heard. i never had a voice until i got away.
our other song was also "Stop and Stare" by One Republic.
that too, is no long song.
please, everyone that reads these, go to YouTube and listen to these songs. and try to understand my life.
it's a song saying that you would rather be anywhere but here, shake off the rust, steady hands, take the wheel, steady feet don't fail me now, and getting away from where you are.
now i look back and shake my head, watching these videos, hearing these words, as my husband plays the video game that reminds me so much of Billy.

for so long after Billy, i wore my running shoes to bed. my Brooks Trance 7's. purple and silver. i never knew when i would have to run again. i went from guy to guy that summer trying to fill that void, i had no idea who i was, always trying to be someone else. and then i met Michael, and somehow, he saved me from myself.

no matter what i do in life, or where i go, or who i become.
i survived.
i survived a year and a half of getting beaten, tattered, and torn.
i survived a year and a half of being belittled, cheated on, called every name in the book, being told i was worthless and pathetic enough that i started to actually believe it.
i survived a year and a half of constantly watching behind my back, running, running, running, from a life i never imagined myself leading.
i got out, alive. and i got almost every piece of myself and my innocence back.
i went to a therapy session during Deployment. it only took on session to tell me that i don't need it. that i survived without anyone help and i can get through it myself as well.
but i know that i am far, far from alone.

and i will make a difference.
as a domestic violence survivor.

-ks.

nineteen.

why, why, why?!?!
it's a Sunday afternoon, and i'm laying on the couch, reading a book while Ryder naps and Mike plays Assassins Creed. when i get a picture message from Buddy.
Buddy is the one friend of Mikes that has always been there for him, and us. he asked how i was and how Ryder was during Deployment, he emailed Mike and was encouraging. i've never had a problem with him, and he has always had my back.
i had to save the photo to my phone to make it bigger to read it.
it was a screen shot of Sable's facebook, a girl from Indiana. she hung around with Mike's friend and stayed in Mike's room because no one wanted her. i guess she's dating Chris now. i have had every single on of them blocked since the beginning of Deployment. i deleted all their numbers from my phone, and i did the same to Mike's when he got back. even Mike's mom and sister he hasn't talked to in over a month.
the status said, "kimmy nelson should die and burn in hell, she is a no good whore and loves to be a total bitch to people she supposedly loves well i feel better now."
as much as i tried not to, tears fell down my face. Mike kept asking what was wrong until he took my phone and read it himself.
i just don't understand. why, why would someone say that about me? someone i haven't talked to in a very long time. when i have had them blocked for months, they can't see or read anything about my life. i did this on purpose. i know that my husband hasn't talked to any one of them, since he got home, other than Jon and Ryan one night. what the fuck did i even do, to anyone, to deserve this year after year after year? i am so tired of this, it's exhausting.
i know that i am a good person. i know that i'm an amazing wife to Michael and the perfect mother to Ryder and Bean. i know i deal with a lot of things, i more than likely shouldn't. i am doing nothing but sitting here, bettering myself and bettering my marriage, and being all that i need to be for the boys. so, that will never change.

but, time has passed as i typed this and i have been talking to Buddy and Crystal. they have been sticking up for me and i can't tell you how much it is for them to do that. Buddy and Chris were always the closest too. so for him to be saying what he has been, just makes all this a lot better. he's right though. Mike is a big boy and can talk to who he wants to. regardless of me. Chris was saying that every time Mike is online with xbox, he leaves. Mike has played video games a handful of times since he has been home. he isn't a single fucking man anymore, you idiots. he has a baby to take care of. and when Ryder goes to bed, theres things he needs to do as well. he GREW UP. as Mike and i were talking, i mean, seriously?! they blame me for taking him from them. he joined the flipping Marine Corps. with or without me he would still be gone, still Deployed, and still have better things to do than get drunk like you. do these people not understand what it is to be a man, get married, and have a family?! this is the sole reason why i do not ever want to set foot in indiana again. but i'm no longer afraid to because i know Mike has my back and will do what he can to protect me and our babies. Mike is a grown ass man and i'm too exhausted to watch over his shoulder at the things he does.

why can't i just be invisible to them? i have dealt with this bullshit for going on three years. they're cut from our lives, and have been for 10 months, i just don't get it. but, knowing i have Mike and Buddy and Crystal, and my son to make me feel so alive, i don't need this. but i swear it needs to stop.

thank you everyone, for having my back. :)

eighteen.

I, am a Marine Wife.
but i do not give anything more to the Marine Corps.
i love my husband and we have come such a long, long way in this world. and i am proud of the man he has become. next November, we will give life another chance, to hopefully get it right.
but i have earned my title. and i will forever claim it. the Marine Corps will forever be a part of us, but we will not let it define us.
i have been there since the first day Michael walked into the Recruiters office in Highland, Indiana.
i gave him the confidence to sign those papers, because he told me that it was what he wanted to do. i saw him swear in at MEPS, and i drove him to the Crown Point Recruiters office and saw him off in the white van going down, the day before he left.
I ate lunch with him right after he swore into the United States Marine Corps on November 2nd, 2009.
and i clung to him, and watched him off on that first white bus that took him to the airport in Indianapolis, to fly to the MCRD of San Diego.
i wrote him every single day that he was gone. i waited, faithfully, for a man that i had known for 3 months, while he was gone, for 3 months. i cried, i kept busy. and i flew to California, where it all began.
and where eventually, it will end.
back then, i thought that Boot Camp was the most difficult thing in my entire life. i look back now and laugh, as hard as i possibly can. i have kept all his boot letters, all whoppin lousy ten of them. as well as my 79 of them.
we went through a lot, just in boot camp. us barely knowing each other we had no idea where it would go. back home, people were telling me that he was writing them letters saying he didn't want to be with me. and in California, people were writing him letters discouraging me from being with him, and that i was cheating on him. i fought with his mother about the flight info so i could fly home with them, i was told that i would have to find my own ride back to my house from the airport because there wouldn't be room, and that he wouldn't want to see me much after not seeing "his boys"
i got a lot of shit from everyone while he was gone. that i shouldn't miss him because i barely knew him. how i was obsessive because i wrote him so much. that my plans to stick beside him and marry him one day were bogus. not ONE person believed in us.
and when i showed up on Family Day, arm in arm with Jovana, his face, lit up. we clung to one another and we both said at the same time, "please don't leave me."
after the letters he was getting, he didn't think i would be there.
and honestly, for awhile, i had no idea why i was. but, i was.
every fear that i had in my mind, were completely gone the next afternoon, when i walked up to him after his graduation, and he told me how much he loved me. how, instead of going with his mom and sister to their hotel room, he followed me to mine and Jovana's to help me pack.
how he held my hand through the airport.
wearing the same exact shirt that i brought him from home, that i am wearing at this very moment.
throughout boot camp, i wrote him, a lot. i didn't tell him how sad i was. i kept him happy, with updates from Indy, who was growing so fast, or silly things at work, i was always cheering him up. i would get love letters about how, he couldn't wait to bring me back out to San Diego and see the city lights with me, or sit on the beach, and how he wished i was there in his sleeping bag, looking at the stars.
i was always, always there for him and i didn't let anyone stand in my way. even my mom thought i as some love sick puppy, wanting the idea of a Marine man. even then, i had no one to lean on but Michael.

sitting on the plane from San Diego to Chicago, i was sitting between two men i had never met, while Mike sat up front, behind his mom and sister. i got to stare at the back of his head when he sat down. next to him, an elderly man, stood up. he grabbed his belongings and walked back to me. he smiled at me and told me, "there is nothing more important to a Marine than his girl standing behind him." and he thanked me. he asked me, to grab my things, and go sit next to my Marine. all the while, Michael smiling back at me. we spent the entire 4 and a half hour plan ride snuggled up together, kissing, and talking about all we missed. the entire time, his mom and sister whispering in front of us, clearly unhappy. when we got to Chicago, his friends Jon and Ryan were there to pick them all up. he had an Impala, and clearly, all the seats were taken. Mike didn't miss a beat, grabbing my hand, putting my things in the trunk, and pulling me on top of his lap. he was't going to let them hurt me like that. all my fears of those few days, had worked out perfectly. when i thought he was going to take his "family"'s said, he didn't. he proved so, so very much to me.

the next night there was a party at the dirty serbians house. things were getting to be too much for me. too much alcohol, everything i dealt with for three months, so, i basically shut myself down. Mike pulled me into the bedroom and sat me down to talk to me about it all. while, this was his and the guys party. everyone got mad at me, asking why i had to ruin everything, and couldn't talk to him later. well, when i drink, i think too much and hat's what happens. haha. so, half the party we were upstairs just talking. he was making me feel better about everything i went through and made sure i knew he wasn't going anywhere.

when his grandmother died, that's when things got really, really, really tough for us. we were doing perfectly fine, but when he got to Chicago and his friends picked him up, while i was at work, that's when it... ended. he was suppose to meet me at work when i got off at midnight. by 10 o clock i still hadnt heard from him, so i text his phone. no response. i waited another 45 minutes. still, nothing. so, i called. unanswered. so, i text one of his friends whom i thought i could trust. he told me that Mike didn't want to be with me anymore. that i had "disrespected his grandma" when i told his sister, when she called to tell me i wasn't allowed at the funeral, and if i showed up at her house she would call the police for trespassing, that the funeral wasn't about any of them, but i was going to be there for Mike. when someone dies, they're gone. the funeral isn't just for them anymore, but the people they left behind. anyway, i ended up driving to Hammond to meet with Steve to ask what the hell was going on, after work. we sat in my truck and he told me that when he got home, he didn't want anything to do with me. that he was done, wanted to break up, that he was drunk and had Kristine in his room, and when Steve told him that i was coming, he didn't answer. Steve told me that they were having sex. honestly, as naive as this is about to sound. i didn't feel like that was the truth. you know when something is wrong, especially with someone you love so much, you get that feeling in your gut? well, i had the gut feeling that this was all a joke. (oh gosh, remembering all of this is making me cry. not because i remember the hurt. but because i havent talked or thought about this in a long, long time and i can't believe, where we are now, it ever happened!) some days i wonder, like, really sit and wonder if it might have happened. i re went through all of those days while Mike was deployed, really hunting for something. because, i was unsure of our marriage. i wanted to relive all the bad times and decide if continuing on was going to be worth it. i tried for the next two days to get hold of him. the next night, he was apparently drunk again, and someone texted me from his phone, dumping me. i was at work, devastated. but, when i re read all the texts, i wasn't stupid. Mike never says, "for real" Steve is the only one that does. i got a text shortly after from another one of Mikes friends, Buddy, telling me that it wasn't Mike, Mike was passed out drunk, that Steve was telling me all of this.

the next day was Sunday. again, i was at work, i closed. he texted me telling me that he would come by later for his things. but when i asked what things, i mean, i had a shit ton of his shit at my house, like, half his wardrobe? he told me he wanted this photo album, that was completely blank, that his friend gave him before boot camp... something he could have went to Meyer for that cost about $15. so, i was ready. well, by ready i mean, i came straight home and got drunk to the point i couldn't feel any emotions when i saw him. his friends drove him, but we went for a walk. i thought, all of this, was hilarious. ohhh, alcohol. when i asked him why he was leaving me he made up excuses like, "well, i just don't want this anymore." that "he didn't want me waiting around" annnd, crap. as we were walking i turned to him and i told him that i wanted him to kiss me. he just stared at me. so, i laid one on him, hard. we ended up making out and groping each other in the middle of a pitch black trail, but it didn't go farther because he "didn't want to lead me on" so, in the end, he told me that he still loved me, that he would always love me, no matter what. and that, while he was in town, we would say our goodbyes, have our final "oorah" (oh, i crack myself up.) and when he went back to North Carolina, that would be it. first, what a crock of shit that turned out to be! the entire week, he blew me off, ignored my texts, and failed to see me. but, i wasn't giving up.

i kept telling myself that "it was ended, but far, far from over." i booked myself a plane ticket for the following weekend. if it was really going to be over, don't blow me off. be a man and tell it to my face. i figured, that if this was it, we needed at least the time, alone, together, with no other influences around us, to work it out, say goodbye, so i had closure. i was so sick of the damn break ups that were so difficult to get over because it was a "were done" and stop talking thing. i wasn't about to do that to myself again. i didn't expect to see him before he left. but a few nights before he left, i decided to be the skank i am, and send him dirty photos. shit, if this was ending, i was still extremely attracted to him, might as well get some dick out of it right? so, he told me to come over. i drove to Hammond at like, 2am, to sit in my truck, under a street lamp, wrapped in a damn care bear blanket, having sex with this guy that had been ignoring me all week. seriously?! yeah, no i don't set myself up to get my heart broke, ever! what an idiot. but, it turned out okay. he told me that he loved me before going back inside. it was a whole, hour little booty call, on MY part mind you. and i think he funniest part was sneaking out of my house, my mom catching me, and knowing EXACTLY what i was about to go do. oh, mom.  but anyway!!! that apparently made him want more. but with him sneaking out that night, his friends got pissed and did't want him seeing me i ended up getting off at might the night before he left to go back. i was bugging to come see him, and he wanted to see me. for more booty? more than likely. well, through all that shit, i'm glad he still wanted to fuck me. :rolls eyes: so, he said to meet at his house, again, at like 3am. i had to work at 7 the next morning.

i pull up to his house and send his cell a text saying i was outside. he told me to unlock the door, and keep the truck running. about, ohhh, five minutes later i see this shadow, all minion like, running down his drive way. he hops in and tells me to drive, and drive fast. so, i did. not five minutes later his phone was blowing up. he seriously had to sneak out of his own house because his friends didn't want him to see me and were watching him like a hawk. steeeeeealth moooooode. so, we just go to my house and i grab Indy so we could walk him. we go around the park and Indy kept walking around the two of us, bringing us close to together. yes, like a sappy love movie. and he was playing music on his phone. the stupid song that goes, "nobody wanna see us together, but that don't matter nooo, cuz i got you." and "i'm at war, fightin for the one that i love and the one that i truely need." i mean come on... seriously? and he still didn't want to be together. uhm yeah, okay. well, we ended up having sex in the truck again, and again, contaminating those poor care bears. we wrote goodbye letters like we always do, that hadn't changed. and, i took him home. at like, 6am. he kissed me goodbye and told me he would never forget me, and told me that he loved me. i sat there as he creeped back up the driveway. and then, he was gone.

flash forward to about 9 days after that. as SOON as Mike had gotten to the airport, after ditching his friends, we were texting like nothing happened. i mean, of course i couldn't just let all that go, but whatever. i told him i was coming to see him and he got excited. as the week went on and him not wanting to get back together, still, my parents took me to the airport, his skateboard strapped to my carry on, i felt so, so sick to my stomach. i arrived in North Carolina while he was still in classes and had a van from the hotel, bring me to my room. i sat there for almost 2 hours for him to come. finally he told me he was at the hotel, i went out to meet him, he ran to me and scooped me up. oh, why hello friend of mine! pft. he dropped his bags in my room, (yes, he planned to stay the whole weekend with me, his... friend with benefits??) and we started walking. we went to some mexican restaurant, and.. within an hour of him seeing me, sitting across the table, him smirking the entire time, he told me how sorry he was, and that he wanted me back. well, duh! but, that was a good start to our weekend.
i tried my best to not be angry at what he just put me through. i enjoyed my time in Jacksonville, and i let it all soak in on the plane ride home. i cried, i let it all out, about what had just happened. but, i was so, so happy to have my boyfriend back. despite it all.

while i was there, we talked about the future. he told me that he "had something in mind but couldnt tell me for sure because he didnt know how the Marine Corps worked." and we talked about marriage. he could never tell me if we were going to get married. he said he wanted to. but he would always give him his stupid, "mayyybe" or "someday" lines. we were not safe during sex whatsoever. that was always Michaels mind game with me. him saying he wasn't ready for a baby, or wasn't sure if he wanted one, ever, but he liked to risk it. that he knew he would be with me forever, so, why not? it was the biggest fuck with my head i have ever been through. a few weeks after getting back together, i told him i was tired of trying to figure everything out. he wanted me to move to his duty station with him, without being married first. i was over the age of 21, and i wanted to apply to be a Hobart officer, but him pushing and pulling me around wasn't helping my life, at all. i would gladly put it aside to marry him and move with him. but to move without the commitment? even i wasn't that nuts. and him not telling me anything, really got to me. so, one night. i was fed up. i told him he had two choices. to marry me and have me move across the country with him, or to lose me, move on, let me go so i could make something of myself. we got into an argument and i hung up on him.

about two hours later he called me back, he talked quiet. but he told me he made his decision. i asked him what he decided and he was silent for a second and then spoke. he said, "i can't live without you. i'm scared of marrying you but i'm scared of not, even more. so, will you marry me?"
and then the silence was my turn.
now, my mother in law and sister in law have read that above paragraph and in their eyes, i forced him to marry me. but honestly, i haven thought about it many, many times. i didn't. he could have clearly walked away from me. he didn't have to marry me, i gave him a choice. he chose not to live without me.
but, in the end, i said yes.

my mom and i prepared for a month. we set our date as May 29th, 2010. which was, a little less than 30 days after our fight and his decision. the rings were ordered i found my dress, we invited my dads side of the family, the people who most support me, and arranged his flight home for memorial day weekend. because o the holiday, we couldn't go to the courthouse. and because the courthouse was closed, we also couldnt obtain a marriage license. my friend Ashley, told me that in Michigan, only one person had to be present for the marriage license. so, up to Michigan i went. i met with an officiate and picked my ceremony, alone. by the time Mikes plane landed i was waiting for him, my truck loaded with weekend things, my dress and makeup, the cabin awaiting us in New Buffalo, and his ring in my pocket.

his mom, nor his friends knew that we were getting married, that didn't know we were engaged for a month. they did not know that Michael had flown into Chicago on the morning of May 29th. and this was entirely his decision. i had contemplated back and forth on telling his mom and sister, and two close friends. but, i didn't. this was something Mike had chosen for us, and i accepted it. and, it was the way i wanted it to.

we had a beautiful ceremony. the sun was shining, he looked as handsome as ever, and the beautiful Lake Michigan was less than half a mile away. we became husband and wife and sealed our lives with a kiss. photos were taken, we all went to dinner, and we spent the weekend in the cabin, mostly naked, and at the beach. well, not naked at the beach but you know what i meant. lmao.
right after the ceremony, we updated our facebooks.
okay, okay you caught me. it was in the middle of the darn thing, before the cake was cut and everything.
and we threw our phones in the room. people were blowing his up! and on the way to dinner he kept getting texts on how disappointed people were in him. even his ex called and told him how "uncool" of a thing that was to do to everyone. we enjoyed the weekend to ourselves and stopped by his moms house on the way to the airport.
that woman seriously, lunged at me. and called me a bitch, telling me that this was all my idea, and fault. Mike stepped between us and stood up for me, saying it was his idea. of course word got around to his friends like a wildfire, and they popped up at his house. it was hat day that i realized how invisible i really was. standing in the kitchen, the only one talking to me was Stephanie. they all wanted to see him off but he told them that i was his wife now and that was my duty, that for once, this was my time.

i went to Jacksonville for his 23rd birthday.
i was the only one that ever went anywhere to see him. other than California where his mom and sister went. and his sister spent the entire time back at the hotel making out with some guy she had just met, or acting like Mike's girlfriend. and his mom staring at us awkwardly.
i spent $400 on my ticket, every time. three times i went to see him. in a span of January-July.
while his friends Ryan and Jon told him they would see his graduating and take a road trip to North Carolina to see him.
two strikes, right there.

we fought a lot when he was home right before he left. when he first got home i was shocked that no one was around. i stayed at his house, instead of mine, spending time with my mom before i moved to Twentynine. he got a few things done before people realized he was here, and leaving soon, with his wife. the day he graduated from MOS school and flew home what the first day we started trying for a baby. July 14th, 2010. we had 2 weeks of him being home before we drove cross country. in only took a few days for it to all fall apart. i was still working until a few days before we left. July 23rd to be exact, the day Southlake 23 retired. one day when i was off, we were all chillen around the pool. Kelly, is a girl that his friend Jon use to date. Mike always told me that he saw her as a sister. but, it seemed to me that they were being TOO friendly. when we were in the pool, they kept pushing each other around, while i just floated there. and when i was at work, they hung out. i tried letting it go. i didn't want to be that crazy jealous wife. but i didn't think it right for him to hang out with some female, while i was at work. i mean, i know for a fact he never wanted me hanging out with guys by myself. i finally told him no more after she text me asking if she could "borrow my husband for a day".... uhm. no! what the hell?! but, he seemed to understand.but, the week just got worse. instead of getting things done that was needed, he just dicked around with his friends. so, after i left my job, it was up to me to get things done. i packed everything into boxes and we threw it all in his driveway to be sorted, Alexis and me. my mom knew we were trying for a baby so she send us with 5 girl outfits, and 5 boy outfits. Jon saw them in my things and asked what the hell they were there for and i told him, we were trying for a baby. and Mike got mad. he didn't see how it was anyones business. while i, was super excited.

earlier that week we had our going away party. when we drove to the mall to get him something to wear, he sat in my passenger seat and told me, after a week of trying for a baby, that he didn't want to anymore. that there was no discussing it, he changed his mind and he didn't want a baby anytime soon. i was crushed. here, we have never been completely safe, he's always "risked" it... it all started 2 weeks after we met. and now when we sit down to try, and he tells me to start on prenatal vitamins, he tells me that we're done trying, before we really even started?! and he said it like, "oh hey, i ate a ham sandwhich today"... sitting in the parking lot of the mall, in my truck. really? i start crying. i threw my keys at him and ran from him, through the corridors. he followed me. i hated him. i did, i hated him. i didn't want to move with him, nothing. i was pissed. i called my mom to tell her i wasn't coming to the party, and shut my phone off. Mike told her what was going on. i went into Aero and picked something out for him and walked back to the truck, and drove home
we went to the party.

i thought about it, the entire party. i was surrounded by babies and kids. i wanted one of my own. wanted one with my new husband. my aunt pulled me aside and told me to wait, a cousin gave us condoms, and my other aunt, whom i want to strangle, started talking crap about us, and how we were line jumping and wasnt our turn for marriage or kids. well, if i wasnt stuck in a family with losers who will never get married, maybe that would make sense?
that night i drove back to Mikes and we were laying on the couch. he kept pulling his hand away from my stomach to make a baby bump. i turned around and slugged him, asked him what he was doing. and he smiled and told me that "we were next" in line for babies. that he changed his mind and he DID want a baby now. (see what i mean with the mind games?) so, back to trying it was!

the night before we left, i almost decided i didn't want to go with him. i told him that he could have people over to drink but he needed everyone gone by 1, and not much drinking for him because we needed to wake up early enough to tell my mom goodbye before she went to work. he told me that was fine. yeah, apparently it wasnt.
all his friends came over with 50 cans of beer, the dirty serbian, whom flat out told Mike he hoped i fuckin died (long story), was there and Mike didnt care to tell him to leave. they all acted like retards, and put on their uniforms and bullshitted. Mike drank way too much and 3am was rollin around, and guys were still there. i was pissed, because this was ruining what i wanted, and needed. and he knew it. i was furious. i couldn't stand him, he was treating me like shit all fucking week, and i was about to run away with him?! i wanted to scream.
(looking back now, i'm still mad. but i guess i'm glad Mike could have one night left with them, to drink and say goodbye. seeing as we will never be friends with them again. yeah, i WILL have that my way.)

but, it all worked out. my mom called off work and we got to say goodbye. we got off to a late start, but i had high hopes for our journey. i bawled my eyes out clinging to my mom, she gave me a goodbye letter, knowing Mike always gave them to me, and we were off. that was hat, no looking back.

the roadtrip here was... well, it was eventful.
when we went to pick up Parsons, i lost my cat.
i was also threatened that night because Mikes dumbass left me with no keys and our car blocking a driveway.
our car overheated, A LOT. we had to blast the heat half the trip. it was end of July, in the desert. yeaaaaah. our car broke down.
we didn't sleep in a hotel, and didn't shower for 3 days.
we had a dog breathing down our necks 90% of the time. he was hot too, and sure as fuck let us know.
we had our entire lives packed in boxes on a piece of shit trailer.
though, i am thankful that Eli strapped it down well enough that we didn't lose anything along the way, winning our bet with everyone left in Indiana.
oh, and we didn't have a house yet. so, Motel 6 it was!

things were really rocky for us when we got here. we didn't really know each other that well and stepped on a lot of toes. we did end up finding a house a few days after being here, and ended up getting screwed over a few months later but, thats another story for another day. he still acted like a "single" man and had Neu and Parsons over whenever he felt like it. when i was so, so tired of always hanging out with his friends, i just wanted our "newlywed" time. and they would show up unannounced. we had the "Sexting" incident, which, i am mostly over by now. we fought, all the time. i hated him, and constantly wonder why i had ever married him, and moved out here. i just wanted to go home. and get far, far away from him.

we found out we were pregnant on Friday the 13th. and despite his anger about people knowing we were trying, he was ecstatic. he sent a picture of the pee stick to everyone he knew. it was nice, actually having something in common to talk about, something between the two of us. since he didn't read, and i didn't care about motorcycles. i had hoped that it would bring us closer.

before Mike left for Deployment, i didn't want to be with him any longer. he was still letting his friends and family hurt me, abuse me, say mean things. i was disrespected by him and half the people he knew. i was so unhappy. we barely talked about the baby, until we found out that SHE was a HE. he didn't really, acknowledge any of it. thinking back now, it was obvious that he didn't want to be too involved because it would seem real to him for a long, long time. we moved into 801, and set everything up, then had to RE set everything up. his mom and sister came and that was a total disaster, and then... he was gone.

when Michael left for Afghanistan, i wanted a clean slate. i wanted to start over. i let all the hard feelings go. i kissed him goodbye and told him to be safe. i cried as the bus drove off. i waited nights for that first phone call, and then even longer for the one that he was safe in country. i waited to go into labor with his son... all i ever did was wait.

exactly 3 weeks after my husband left for war, our beautiful son was born. though i had Amber with me, the fact that my husband wasn't there, just was not okay. while in the hospital, recovering from a C Section, i didn't think about it much. but as soon as i brought Ryder home, to an empty house, without Michael, it really hit me. it was hard. fuck, i thought everything we had already gone through was tough. i really, had no idea.

the beginning part of Deployment was rough. i wanted to go home, he wasn't being who i needed him to be. he didn't understand, he was too far away, the list goes on. but towards the end, things got really good again. we skyped with the baby a lot, i got cute emails, i couldnt wait for him to come home. Homecoming was the single most stressful, but exciting day of our lives. though i had wanted to start over when he left, i knew now was the time for us to clean everything up and vanish the past. though it was hard the first month and a half, i can honestly say now, we have a hang of it all.

(i have been writing this for the past 2 hours and i'm exhausted.)

looking back today, i have no idea who that boy i met, is. i don't think he likes hearing that but the moment he held his son for the first time, he became a man. he became a husband, finally. i think i realized all this the last few weeks, while i have been trying to better myself and be happy and thankful for being alive. and a lot today, when i realized he grew up BIG when i decided i can't remember the last time he talked in sound effects and car noises. other than to Ryder of course. we have come such a long, long way that all the bad stuff means so very little. instead of thinking or talking about the things we can not change, the last few weeks we have been talking about the future. who we think our kids will be, how we want to raise them, the kind of house we want. all our hopes and dreams. we have been able to laugh with each other, and pick on one another, instead of getting angry, or ignoring each other. he has once again made me feel alive. a feeling i haven't felt in a really, really long time. he has realized that, his mom, sister, and friends hurt me. and i know it wasn't easy, but for now, they aren't in our lives. i understand that it's hard for him to see things my way, but he knows they aren't good for our children. he knows i only want whats best for them, always. i am no longer terrified to return back to indiana, or the drama that will be there. i trust my husband completely, with everything. and i know he will handle things the way they need to be, for his family. he isn't like who he use to be and i am so, so proud of him the hurt he has caused me is a far thing in the past. and though we fight and i have doubts from time to time, it's really my shield so i don't get hurt again. all i have ever known in my life, is hurt. but that ended the day i turned 23, and knew i needed to do something in order to survive.

all i have is myself. i have my beautiful son and baby to be, i have my husband that loves me more than anything. the man that made life make sense, make me find myself, and has given me the two most precious gifts i couldn't have even dreamt of. i asked him last week if, something happened to us and we got divorced. if somewhere down the line, i could make him fall in love with me again. he told me that, i wouldn't even have to. today i asked him, if i was 33 years old, and died, like my aunt did, if he would be remarried like my uncle is. he didn't even have to think about it. he said no. that wasn't even a possibility in his mind. because if i have things my way, he's going to have to chase 5 kids away, and be double parents, and he doesn't understand how i do it with one. he can look me in the eye and tell me i'm beautiful, even when i know i look terrible. i told him i couldn't believe in may we will have been married for 2 years and he told me it feels like we have just been this way forever. and in a way, it has. so much that, as much as the beginning of us shaped our lives and formed what we are, right now, i don't remember any of it. all i can remember if the time we have spent together with our son. how he wakes up in the middle of the night for him, so i can sleep. or gets up with him on weekends, so i can sleep in. how he always wants what's best for us and protects his family. how he can change a diaper in front of everyone and his command without even thinking twice, and he always has an extra binky in his pocket, just in case. how he supports my book addiction, and feeds into it, but doesn't say a word, just buys me another damn bookshelf. Michael Patrick has come so far. he has grown up and changed, so much. i still can not listen to Tim McGraw's "Better Than I Use To Be" without thinking of him. and i know now that i really worry for no reason. that he would never do anything to jeopardize his wife and children. i have long ago stopped thinking that he would leave me for another woman. even if, right now, my sex drive is low and i don't want sex much, or i don't wear makeup or do my hair, or wear his clothes instead of mine. i know his eyes don't wander, and his heart never will. i have stopped checking his phone for text messages from people that i don't like, because i don't even care anymore. Michael is Michael because of Ryder, Bean, and i. and the four of us, is all each other needs. nothing else matters in this world except for my little family of four. or, seven. however you think about it. i am finally where i want to be in life.

Michael and i are not at "stage three" in marriage. we have gotten through the honeymoon stage, as quickly as that was passed up. we are passed the stage of cute little notes and flowers and sweet things. even though, honestly, yeah, those days never really happened. we have gotten through our first pregnancy and the horomones. we are comfortable enough to talk to one another while pooping, i can let him know, when i am about the poop, and i can fart on him anytime that i want. the stage two of comfy-ness. and we are in the stage three. the parent stage. we o longer buy things for each other, we buy things for our kids. if we want something for ourselves, we wait for it, or buy it right there. we're always thinking on baby time, and the things we need for Ryder or Bean that we always overlook ourselves. we are exhausted, so no late nights out. or movies where you're falling asleep in the middle, or rolling over and not so much snuggling anymore. i buy him underwear and he buys me my latest craving. we don't talk about him and i any longer, but our two children. and i love it. i have gotten over the stages we might have missed, and settled into this, comfortable old blanket that is us. it's a little tattered and torn here and there, but it's like that, because of the three of us. ups and downs and curveballs. ahh, so wonderful to feel like this, finally. the only feeling i have been searching my entire life for. <3

seventeen.

i was just about to shut my Mac and go to bed.
when i decided to check my sisters Facebook page.
and i see, that she has deleted me.
for what reason, i do not know. we haven't ever talked over the internet. and maybe she read my last post about her hanging on by a thread. now, i can read her page but she can not read mine. though, i have blocked her, not caring to read hers.
by deleting me she chose to not be connected to her only nephew.
and therefore, i have become an only child.
there goes the last of my ties with indiana. the only one left is slipping.

i am so, so very tired of going through this. it's always something.
and i no longer give a fuck.
if i walk out of this town, with nothing but my little family, i will still have my beautiful smile on my face. moving out here has shown me more than i could have imagined. and "family" is he biggest thing. i'm so over my dramatic 34 year old sister. she hasn't even had me unblocked for a year, only unblocking me after i got on Mike's page to message her, asking if she wanted to be in my sons life.
apparently not?
so, this is it my friends. my mom will read this and call me and tell me she's going to die one day and not have her kids talking. and give me yet again, another guilt trip about what THEY do to ME, like it's my fault and i haven't been trying my entire fucking life to get someone in that god damn piece of shit family to notice me, or them to accept me.

and now suddenly, moving back to indiana seem of no importance to me at all.

i got married young to a man i barely knew. i moved across the country, putting every ounce of trust in that man. we got pregnant on the way. we endured a Deployment, i birthed and raised our child completely on my own because no one back "home" gave a fuck enough for me to do otherwise. and i survived. i love my husband and we love our son. and our second child on the way. they are all my importance, they are all i have and i couldnt be more proud of that. to them, i don't constantly have to shout for attention, to fit in, to do everything i can to be acceped. being myself is good enough.

i just wish that was enough for the people that aren't suppose to leave my side.

annnnd here's a big FUCK YOU to everyone i once knew.

my husband and i's blood are the same.
and our blood runs through Ryder's veins.
in august, it will run through anothers again.
that's all that will ever, ever matter anymore.

kelly and kevin, rot in fucking hell, for making me feel like i've never been good enough for the family that has been falling apart for 34 years. thanks for all the misery. but also, thank you for making me realize how much better i am than you.
have fun with your miserable lives.i'll be the last one standing, you fucks.

sixteen.

lately, it seems like my life has turned around.
and i am determined to keep things that way.

these past few days have really been wonderful, just Ryder and i. i love having him sleep with me in bed again, breaking the rules, and him absolutely hogging all of my space. i like the him and i time at night, to giggle and laugh and read stories. knowing that my time won't end with him at 1630 every night. i don't know, i just like it him and i sometimes. it's really nice. he lifts my spirits. and sometimes i don't mine Mike being away. since that is what i'm so use to anyway. it's just been an awesome few days with my little buddy. it's just a small reminder of why i became a mother, and now, will have two perfect little babies. he is now curled up in blankets on Mikes side of the bed, waiting for mommy's snuggles.
but we're excited to see daddy, of course.

right before my birthday, i sent an email to Monique. through all the hard times we have had, going through the things i had been going through, i needed a friend. i knew that i was going to make the most of my twenty third year. and in doing so, i needed to realize what was important to me, and that also included who. it hurts me, a lot. because steven and mike were close. and in mo and i's friendship falling apart, it kind of made theirs too. but i had been thinking about her a alot. her and i, all deployment, were like sisters. we hung out everyday and we were there for one another through it all. sure, we're going to fight. that's what families do. so, i decided to tell her how i felt. after waiting a week, she replied. we decided that when she got back into town, we would meet for lunch.
we decided to get pizza, like we always do. we talked, for 10 hours. not so much about what happened between us, but the things we have missed. and honestly, it felt like we didn't even skip a beat. everything fell right back into place. i know that i need to push aside the different ways we live, and the way we think. but i think we realized how much we need each other. our little fall out was like, a big break up. it was a build up of everything falling apart in my life and running away from it all. but not having one another, in a way, effected our marriage. i didn't want to email her until i knew i could handle life, my marriage, and everything else. i was honestly afraid for tonight. but, it was all back to normal. we caught up, played with Ryder, and talked about our futures. i am looking forward to what the future holds for both our families. hopefully, together! :)

she also made me realize even more tonight, who is and isn't important in my life. a few nights ago, i deleted a lot of my family off my facebook. i don't see a point in keeping them involved in my life when we no longer talk. why just look at photos of my family, but not wish me a happy birthday, or congratulate me on our second baby? yet, invite me to a stupid event that i obviously can not attend, nor would i if i had the choice. my sister is a step away from being deleted as well, seeing as her and i don't talk either. my "family" has become a Christmas card here, a check for my birthday here. and it no longer makes me sad. it is, what it is. and i refuse to let that affect my life any longer. my mom says, "oh you're just out of sight, out of mind right now. when you move back it'll be better." but why in gods name should i settle for that, or my family? i can't stand it anymore! my brother hasn't talked to me in over 4 years, no one else seems to care about me or my life. and instead of letting that upset me, its just going to make my life better.

maybe moving out here wasn't such a mistake. it's opened my eyes to so much. i have never been so judged by people that were close to me, until i up and moved. especially, my mother. as much as i love her, she really has made all of this rather difficult. and it's really taking its toll on me. nothing i ever do seems to please her. she honestly told me she was disappointed i was pregnant again, when it was no secret to be had that this was our plan. when i wanted to move home, she made up every excuse in the book as to why i couldn't. whether it be my two kids, my big dog, or my idiot asshole brother moving back. if it wasn't one thing it was another. even moving back for a few months before we find our house she complains about. it really, really pisses me off that she uses Indy as an excuse. every time, it's always my dog. well mother, i will choose my dumb dog over you anyday. he's my family, and i refuse to abandon any part of my family because you don't even know him! she bases him being a puppy and her not giving a fuck about him, on who he is now. she "doesn't want him tearing up her house" when, he hasn't chewed up anything or had any accident in well over a year now. he's my protector and i couldn't have made it through Deployment without him. and the fact that he's always, always, always the deciding factor on visits, means that we're never going "home" to visit. it's really sad that, because i have a family, which includes dogs, that she makes it hard for me to come visit. while my brother, who is 26, has nothing, is free to come back, no questions asked. but then again, i should have known all of this when i left. and here i am, living my own life, and that still isn't good enough. how many children i want is "too many", what my house dreams consist of is "too much", the names i like for this baby aren't "normal" enough, or too babyish when they're older. never, ever good enough. my reasons for wanting to come home weren't good enough, what i ever wanted to do in life, was never good enough either. she tells me she's proud of me and i don't really know of what, since everything i ever do never seems like enough.

she did all she could for me growing up and now that i'm a mother myself, i guess it's high time to move the hell on, and not count on her for anything. but i know that, when my 22 year old son or daughter call me crying, telling me how unhappy they are, i'm going to tell them that i love them, and to come home. and bring whoever they love with them. being judged my entire life, and never fitting in with my family, i can't see that as a bad thing anymore. it just makes me a better mother and makes me understand what i need to do for my children. and i'm going to be a happier person doing it.

i know that my children, won't always cooperate with me. they might not have the same dreams as i have for them. we will more than likely never see eye to eye. but whatever they decide in life, i'm going to support them. i'm going to do everything that i can for them, all of them, all god damned five of them. and i can't wait for that. i am done with people judging me, they can suck my dick. yes, i said it.  if i continue to live everyone elses life, i'm never going to be happy. i need to put my foot down and stand the fuck up. and that's what i plan to do. from now on.

welcome to my new life.

-ks.

fifteen.

people ask me all the time, how i do it.
how i juggle being a wife, a mommy, which, more than half his life i have been a solo parent, juggle three stupid dogs, housework, college courses, and having "me" time.
and i'll tell ya, i go a little crazy sometimes, and i lose a lot of sleep.
but, i can't tell you how lucky i am.

i read so many horrific stories during pregnant. the morning sickness, the constipation, the mood swings, can't sleep, can't hold any food down for months. constant back pain, pressure. then a tough labor, my poor friends are in so much pain that they throw up. :(  the contractions that last for days upon days, the 20 plus hour labors, the hours of pushing. and then, having a colic baby, never wants to sleep, fussy all the time, clingy. i read complaints about not being able to shower, or eat, or sleep. they're going nuts. as the babies grow up, they turn into brats, get into everything, don't listen, screams, what have you. and then, of course there are those husband that don't help with the baby, let alone the housework. i watch these women just, fall apart. all the time. i look at my last pregnancy and a half, my 9 month old, and my husband. and just shake my head.

both pregnancies, until the baby moved, i didn't even feel pregnant. i never had morning sickness, i never vomited. other than staying up half the night, which was my routine anyway, and mood swings because my husband was an idiot, i didn't feel much at all. Ryder dislodged my rib in my back, and even that stopped being painful in a few weeks. i never got any stretch marks. i had contractions for, a day. the morning before my water broke, i felt them. i wasn't sure what they were. i never had braxton hicks. i lost my mucus plug at 4PM, my water broke at 0130. i walked around my house for another hour because i had no idea what to do. i drove to Ambers, who couldnt find her license, so i drove us to base. while still dripping fluid, while having contractions. i parked by the clinics, and walked my pregnant ass through the quarterdeck, still dripping, mind you, and up to labor and delivery. i did have my epidural early, i wasn't trying to be brave with all of this. i was preparing myself to know how to push when they told me that i was going to have a c section. i'll admit, it kind of tore me apart. no pun intended. but, without Mike there and having my husbands support, i'm kind of glad it ended up that way. other than me losing a lot of blood and refusing a blood transfusion, Ryder and i were perfectly fine. we left the hospital about 36 hours later.

when i got home, i didn't have time to laze around and recover. i had a new baby to take care of, myself, a dog, and a husband overseas. i couldn't just lay in bed, that wasn't an option. i took the stairs multiple times a day, i lifted my baby, the carseat, 40lbs of dog food. i still went to the grocery store, and WIC appointments, and doctors appointments, not to mention enrolling him into Deers and IPac. i still went to Walmart and sent care packages, and did laundry and the dishes and made sure i ate something. i didn't complain, i healed fine. i didn't baby myself. i was a solo mother, with a baby, i couldn't act like one myself. sure, i was in a lot of pain, but i couldn't take the painkillers because they made me fall asleep. so, they remain in the back of my medicine cabinet.

i was thankful that i didn't have to work. that my husband provided for me and our baby and it was one less thing i had to worry about. i didn't end up losing too much sleep. Ryder has always been a great sleeper. i slept when he did. he slept for three hours at night, woke up for a bottle, and went back to sleep. i think he inherited the want for naps from his mama. :)  so, i was usually well rested. he slept in bed with me until his dad came home. he had followed my bedtime routine, usually falling asleep around 1AM, and sleeping until 07, drinking a bottle, then falling back to sleep. but as soon as Mike came home and we got him a new crib, it was 9 o clock, every night. he adapted with no fuss at all. i had a worse time coping with him being in the next room than he did missing me. and ever since he has been in bed, by 9 o clock, every night. we send him to bed with a bottle and check on him 20 minutes later and he's knocked out with his empty bottle and his lullabies playing. he usually wakes up between 1-2 for a bottle, then goes back down. and wakes up between 7-9, depends on how he feels for the morning. he takes a noonish nap for an hour and a half or so, and then one around 4 until his dad gets home. he gets lunch at 1230, dinner at 630, bath at 815 every other night. he adapts to whatever we put him through. yesterday instead of giving him bottles, i put his formula and juice in sippies, he didn't even notice. basically anything we put in his mouth, he eats. when we started putting shoes on him, he didn't even notice. nothing phases him, he's just so amazing. he doesn't whine, or fuss. he isn't clinging, at all. he plays by himself, by his choice. and comes to me if he wants me to play. he sits by himself and talks, he eats his snacks and watches cartoons. well, usually they're on and i watch them because he's off exploring. he lets me know when he wants a nap, he crawls to the stairs and pats the bottom on,  like saying, "upstairs mommy." he "helps" me in the kitchen when i cook or do dishes. if he's playing in the cabinet, which, when Mike gets back from the field, he WILL be baby proofing, i walk in there, he looks up at me, closes it, and lifts his arms up because he knows i'm going to carry him back to his toys. and off he goes again. he does throw fits when you take something he doesnt want you to. uh hum.. mommys KEYS! which he doesnt need to be playing with, or my phone. or, you don't share your food, that's a big thing for him. haha. but he gets over it in a minute or so. he has TWO bottom teeth now and you really never knew he was teething. the second one must have popped through overnight. he had a cold once, running and stuffy nose, earache, that whole deal. he never fussed or whined about it. just sniffled and tried to breathe. now, getting his boogers and clipping his nails is world war three in the household, but again, he gets over it really fast. people ask me all the time if he's really as happy as he is in photos. and yes, yes he is. and i got so, so lucky. and i hope it stays this way!

now, my husband. ohhh Michael. he's a great guy, really, he is. and when it comes to his kiddo, he's almost the perfect dad. he wakes up in the middle of the night if i'm already asleep, he follows the routines, he knows how to make his lunch and dinner like he's use to. he will get up with him on the weekends and play with him until i wake up. he gives him his baths all the time. he packs the diaper bag if we're going somewhere, and always has a binky in his pocket, and never forgets Ryders favorite blanket for car rides. he gets all the baby WIC, and picks out other foods for him too. now that Ry eats goldfishies, Mike grabs them when we pass them, as well as mac n cheese cups for him. he knows Ryders favorite nigh nigh song, and rocks him when he fusses. whenever he's home i never change any sort of diaper because he's on top of it. he washes bottles once a week for me as well. he doesn't put away Ry's laundry but that's beside the point, lol. he helps out A LOT with Ryder, and i know he will the second baby as well. he knows it gets tiring, day in and day out chasing the baby on top of everything else. sometimes he doesn't understand that hey! take the baby for a walk or something so i can sit for five minutes! but when i tell him to, he does it. and i know a lot of fathers don't do shit.

around the house, he gets lazy. but a lot of times on the weekend he does the dishes while i nap. he does laundry even though, like with the baby clothes, he never folds them and puts them away. he makes sue there is gas in the truck because he knows i hate pumping. he's right there if i run out of toilet paper and yell for him to get me some. or, on sundays when he gets a haircut, he always brings me back subway. he slacks on the dogs a lot and it bothers me when he gets irritated with them after only dealing with them for a few hours. and it bugs me that he goes to bed so early and we dont really get "us" time. but still, i know he helps me out a lot. even if i have to repeat myself over and over from time to time. he's working on talking, being more affectionate, and helping me feel better when things get to me. he has come a really, really long way.

i also have three crazy annoying dogs. i can really only stand the little one. i hate noises when it's my quiet time and Scout always pushes my damn buttons. you would think he would be use to the kennel by now, bad, bad dog. but he just won't learn. well, Indy isn't the worst dog anymore. haha. i still clean up pee spots and poop every so often, they don't drive me AS nuts anymore. but at least twice a week i wonder why i ever did this to myself. haha.

i am also taking online courses for criminal justice. i'll admit, i freakin hate it. not having a class, or hard copies of books, though. ebooks don't cost me a dime so i count my blessings there too. haha. but, i take it seriously. i work hard. i currently have 850 pts out of 1,000. and i'm only missing those 150 because thats what the final is worth and i haven't taken it yet. so, i have gotten 100% on every quiz, progress test, and homework assignment in this class. and i am rather proud of myself for that. with dealing with everything that i deal with every day, and still managing to pull that off, that's a BIG deal. even though i have decided i didn't want to pursue a criminal justice career any longer, and honestly don't see myself having a full career, ever, in my life, and i'm okay with that, i still do it. to say i earned something, and put a lot of time and effort into it all.

i know i'm lucky. to have such an easy, beautiful pregnancy while almost everyone else i know is struggling to get through weeks and weeks of it. i am lucky now, well, to know when my next baby is going to be here. i am lucky to be able to sleep all night if i wanted to, and have the help of a husband. and have a damn near perfect little boy. while i read posts of sleep deprivation, fussy babies, teething cranky babies, temper tantrums and terrible twos. and when that does happen in my life. i'm just going to laugh it off. because i have had it so easy for so long. people ask if i'm nervous about having two babies so close together and sometimes, i really am! but hen i look at Ryder and how he acts and adapts, i mean the awesome little man shares already, it's amazing! i know that i have a perfect little helper on my hands. and with the way things are going with mike, after all weve been through. ahhh, i am so happy of this road we are on!

yes, i know.
i'm the lucky one. <3

fourteen.

i'm sorry for all the posts tonight.
this tends to happen when my husband goes into the field.
i just watched Teen Mom 2.
the episode where Corey finds out about Leah cheating a week before their wedding. now, i have a little crush on Corey and when he cries, it breaks my heart.
but watching this episode, and her filing for divorce and making sure she has the kids.
made me realize a lot.
as i have in the last few weeks of my life.
and i know i can not ever, live without Michael.
i walked into Ryders room to check on him, and he must have heard me. he rolled over and looked up at me, smiled that little binky smile. he is the best gift that Mike has ever given me.
despite all our past problems, almost all of that stopped after we got married. sure, he screwed up, big time, shortly after we moved out here, and for the most part, i have let it go. well, as much as i possibly can. but i know that he has never been physical with anyone else but me.
but what if he had, when we were just dating?

the way i see Michael now, is nothing as i use to. i can stare at all of our old photos from when we first got together and i see a child, a boy. someone who had no idea what life was all about. a kid that, acted like a kid. that broke all the rules, did dangerous things that could have cost him his life. a boy that didn't know who or where he ever wanted to be. the only thing i know he knew, was that he loved me. and that is the one thing that has never changed.
things were still rough after we moved out here. when we found out we were pregnant. he was never who i needed him to be. he was a jerk and still let people walk all over me. he never stood up for his family. he didn't know right from wrong. and then, he was torn away from his wife, and missed the best possible moment his life has held. though he will be here for the birth of his second child, it's nothing compared to your first born, your son at that. and looking back at the months before he left, and the time after he has come home. i see someone completely different. everything about him has changed. and though he slips up from time to time, he hasn't in awhile. he's learning, a lot. i have never had more joy in my life than watching that boy, grow into a man, into a husband and a dad, all because of me. <3

it's crazy to think that, by the time our second child is born, we will have only known each other for three years. that's it. our second babies due date is exactly three years from the day i got back from my weekend in Evansville, the first weekend away from him, even though we only knew each other for 9 days. i remember that drive down there. him and i were texting for six hours. and i remember driving back, going straight to his house, jumping in the pool with him, half naked. it felt good and right to be back with him, after being together everyday for the last week. i remember leaving for my trip early that friday morning, from his bed. he woke up early with me, though sick the night before, to see me off and be safe. we fell into our routine really fast. we fell in love even faster. and though it has been hard, really, really hard. it has been worth it.

Mike has turned into this, amazing man. i'm not perfect either, and i know i have a lot of learning to do. it really opened my eyes earlier when he texted me to tell me that he loved me. and when i told him i thought he would be mad at me, for not taking him his NVG bag this morning, he told me, "NO! i'd never be mad over you doing whats best for Ryder, i understood."  that isn't what the old Mike would have ever told me. it made me smile. and like, last night, when we were watching Mister Poppers Penguins. i told him, honestly. if we were to get a divorce, since we have kids, we would see each other a lot. i don't see either one of us moving on, or finding anyone else. and i know, with my entire heart. that all it would take is one night of him picking the kids up for his weekend, one look in his eyes, and i would fall back in love, a million times. so i asked him, "if we were to get a divorce, down the road, could i make you fall back in love with me?" he smiled at me and told me, "you wouldnt even have to."  and thats the man i have been waiting for.

since Mike has gotten home, i think he has learned to respect himself. especially as a father. he realizes that having a baby was the best thing he has ever done. all his doubts all his life about not having a child, were dead wrong. he doesn't talk to the people that have hurt me, even though i know that might be difficult for him. but, he sees thins different now, and it's amazing. he isn't who he use to be, the man i first fell in love with. but oh, he sure is the man i fell in love with all over again, even more so.

and i could not ask for more. <3
