thirty three.

one of my biggest pet peeves.
is really, well, moms. or about to be moms.
and have no idea why i take part in groups involving them. it isn't that they're hormonal and weird. but they over react and worry over way, way too much.
when i was pregnant, at 3 months, i had to ride a motorcycle after our car broke down and we had to find a new vehicle. i ate subway and sandwiches without heating up the meat first. i took Flintstones vitamins and not prenatals. if i had a headache, i took something for it, if i had a cold, i took something for it. i drank soda whenever i wanted, ate whatever i wanted. i don't understand how people can worry over something so incredibly small. do they not know they are taking the joy out of the pregnancy by worrying over every little thing, instead of just relaxing?!
i don't think people ever really think about the fact that, our age, parents smoked and drank and smoked pot with us in our stomachs. okay well, maybe not us, but our siblings. not my parents because, they're not drinkers and i think my mom is too much of a goody too shoes to do drugs. and our grandparents, didn't have any prenatal care, and they were working most of their pregnancies!
my husband was gone, i lifted heavy things. i went grocery shopping at 40 weeks pregnant and carried it all in, put it all away. i had to move things around in the nursery. we had an ant problem, i sprayed my house so that i didn't have nasty ants crawling around. i drove myself to the hospital because that night Amber had misplaced her license. after the C Section, i still had to lift heavy things, and do everything myself. i dealt with the pain because the drugs made me too sleepy and i needed to take care of my child. when he was only a week or two old, i took him out to Walmart and got the funniest looks because people think you shouldn't take such a tiny infant out in public for the fear of germs. i even took him outside to the pool and to a concert when he was about 3 months old. and yes, he was covered in sunscreen. i got crap for that too, that he's too young. shit, when he was like, 4 months, Monique accidentally gave him a piece of fruit roll up haha. he was eating baby foods at 3 months because he couldn't keep his formula down, and he slept with me until his father came home from war, at six months old. my child has had two colds in his life, no more than a runny nose and maybe a day of coughing. he is perfectly healthy just the way he is. and he's happy. i know that he's at the age where he's going to fall and bump his head, or eat grass or dirt, shit, he's already eaten... shit. and i get to enjoy his baby hood and toddler hood just being a mom and not constantly worrying about things.
and Michele brought up a great topic, people who put their children on leashes!!! are you really that irresponsible not to just watch your child, put them in a stroller, hold their hand, carry them? come on now. i think those things are terrible. i feel bad for saying "good boy" to Ryder when he does something good because i feel like i'm treating him like a dog, why would i put a damn leash on him? it's just terrible.

ladies, just BE PREGNANT! and take it for all that it's worth. drink a fucking soda and relax. clearly, use common sense. don't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes or weed. THOSE things, do cause problems in babies. not soda, not tylenol PM, or cold medicine, or how you sleep while pregnant, or what you eat. come on now. and hope that your baby makes it full term! i seriously hate seeing women who want their pregnancies over at 35 weeks because its just "too much" or they "want to meet their babies" that's something you should be concerned about, don't risk your childs health for selfish reasons, such as drinking and smoking. yet, you worry about eating right and not drinking soda... >.>   can i slap you now?
just, be pregnant.
and when they are born, let them be babies. you're a mom. MOST of you have some sort of common sense on what is and is not okay. don't follow some stupid rule book or what doctors say. shit, in my experience at Naval, i will more than likely never listen to them concerning either one of my children. let them be kids, chew on and eat what they want. my kid had an obsession with chewing on my leather ID case attached to my keys a few months ago, which, i have no idea where that thing has been, and never got sick. he was carrying around a closed tube of toothpaste yesterday and carries around a random speaker, chapstick, and my truck key all the time. and he's perfectly fine. he eats pieces of what we eat, all the time. he still sleeps with me when Mike is gone, and he bumps his head on something every other day. my kids one tough little cookie. but he's perfect the way he is. soda drinking, motorcycle riding, medicine and all.

when you over think and worry about things too much, that's when something goes wrong. people, all their life, take precautions with eating right, dieting, exercising, and a lot of the worlds healthiest people still get cancer, or get sick a lot, and die. when they just wasted life worrying and stressing about being healthy and doing the right thing... instead of sitting back and enjoying life. my Granpaw was like that. he was overweight a lot of his life and my dad got him into cycling. he lost a lot of weight, started eating right, exercising, feeling better about himself, and they told him he had Cancer after he went through all of this. if something is going to happen, it's going to happen. no matter what steps you take to pussy foot around it.

just live.
it's as simple as that. <3

-ks.
